How to get images on homepage as in example screenshot

From this sample (http://wpadvocate.org/), how do I get my homepage to look like this w/ the 3 widgets boxes containing title/image/text? I can’t find the instructions anywhere.

Hi @nishiaklein, This is really easy…1) Create a new static page and apply the alt_homepage template from the template dropdown on the right of the page edit screen. The page title and content will appear on the page as the title and intro content like the demo). Add a regular WordPress image gallery to this page and the template will use this as the background images. This template will slide the images. 2) Set this page as the home page under Settings > Reading. 3) Go to Appearance > Widgets and add your chosen widgets to the Alt_homepage sidebar area. For the demo I used the Image Widget plugin to create those widgets you see on the home page.
