Background process blocking bitcoin mining?

So I recently bought a $2,500 computer for gaming, however I wanted to test out the speed at it runs compared to my old computer. I’ve done speed tests and such and my new computer blows my old out of the water. However I wanted to try an unorthodox way of speedtesting so I tried comparing Ghash/s values using bitmining tools. Only to find out that when running any bitmining software (tested three so far) It says my GPU port is in use and it doesnt even register my CPU. Any ideas? The only thing I can think of is a background process overriding it.

I should also state that using BOINC does work without a hitch so it must not be all distributed computing that effects my computer.

I didn’t find the right solution from the internet.
